The number one thing I want my kids to learn from me

The list is long. I want my kids to learn so many things. Just sending them to school to learn a few facts is really just the tip of the iceberg. Sure school is important. Yes I want them to be exposed to a variety of subjects to stretch their brains. I so much want them to learn to THINK.

But above all, do I want them to just be smart? Not really. I don’t think God will be impressed with anyone’s smarts in the end.

I want them to know the Gospel of Jesus above all. Not just know the facts. Not just be able to quote back answers to fancy questions. But rather to know it. Intimately.

It’s an intimidating thing to be responsible for. The Holy Spirit moves how he will. But I’m responsible for teaching my kids the Gospel through words and deeds. I can’t farm that out and I’m on the hook.

Makes me want to know and live the Gospel more myself.
